We live here, build here, and know what wine country weather does to a structure.
We walk the space with you and walk you through the estimate, so you see where the cost comes from.
We build so nothing has to be torn out later. Shortcuts today are someone's problem tomorrow.
Anyone can build you a deck or hang a door. What you're hiring is the eye: every builder on our crew is trained to catch the crooked line and the rushed corner before it ever becomes yours.
Cedar pergolas and freestanding gazebos built for long Sonoma County evenings. Attached or freestanding, sized and engineered for how you'll actually live in the space.
Redwood and composite decks built from the frame up. The framing nobody sees gets the same eye as the boards everybody walks on.
Doors that swing true and windows that seal tight, flashed and installed so they stay that way through every winter.
New doors, drawer fronts, and finishes on the kitchen you already have. The room where everyone ends up anyway, made right without the gut remodel.
Straight lines, solid posts, and gates that don't sag. Built to stand up to the weather here.
The bay window sat empty behind their dining table, dead space every time the family crowded around for dinner. We turned it into a built-in bench with storage tucked underneath, framed and finished so it reads like it was always part of the room. When Thanksgiving came, there was finally room for everyone at the table.
She had a pool but nowhere to sit in the shade near it. Every seat was either in full sun or backed right against the house, so there was no good spot to sit with the grandkids on pool days. We framed it in pressure-treated wood to protect her budget, then finished the decking and rails in redwood. Now the family gathers there in the shade, pool in view, watching the grandkids swim.

A regular client called about deck repairs. On site, we found the real problem: the last contractor had tiled over it with an indoor product that was already breaking apart, and underneath, the framing wasn't strong enough to hold people safely over time. We told her the truth, tore it out, and rebuilt the frame from scratch, pressure-treated to protect the budget, redwood for the decking and rails, cable railing instead of balusters so she'd keep her view. She couldn't wait to get the grill and umbrella out.

You reach out and tell us what you're picturing. We'll respond quickly and set up a time to talk.
A short call to understand the project, the property, and what matters most to you.
We walk the space with you before we talk numbers. We always see things in person that photos miss.
A written proposal with the scope spelled out. We'll walk you through it so you see exactly what goes into it and where the cost comes from.
When a permit is needed, we handle the Sonoma County paperwork and inspections.
We show up on time, protect your property, and keep the site clean while we work.
You hear from us as the job moves. No wondering, no chasing.
We walk the finished work with you and leave the site cleaner than we found it.
We check back in after the job, because standing behind the work doesn't end at the final walkthrough.
Corey was professional start to finish! We wanted a small deck built to increase our outdoor living space. It is beautiful and even better than we imagined. He has vision and great craftsmanship. And he finished way under our original timeline and was very communicative along the project's duration (some materials were needing to be changed and he called immediately for consultations and approval). And, he and crew were very respectful with COVID 19 masking and cleaning.Brandon K.
We wanted to refinish our old redwood deck to increase our outdoor space and make the surface more comfortable for our toddling grand babies to play outside when visiting. We met with Corey and received a honest evaluation of the condition of our existing deck and our various options by price and quality. In that initial evaluation, Corey noticed a few boards that had shrunk and recommended that we remove and flip them over and realign to optimize the aesthetics. This was a creative way to use the existing material and make it look nicer. In two days, we had a beautiful outdoor living space, refreshed and renewed in the time and price agreed upon. We are so pleased we worked with Finewright Builders: professional, considerate, creative, and attention to detail to the very completion and clean up! His communication skills and integrity of the work were great to behold. We are looking for other projects to entrust him with. We highly recommend and trust Finewright Builders.Monica Anderson
Corey has replaced a kitchen light fixture and two exterior doors for us and did a great job for us. Highly recommended!Edward Mills
Finewright Builders did a great job installing my patio door with a doggy door. Corey really took his time and went the extra mile going back to the hardware store to return all of the unused supply's after the job. He was extremely tidy and detail oriented making sure everything was perfect before leaving. I'm planing on using them to install new kitchen cabinets and countertops soon. His kitchen cabinets quote was very fair given how high quality his work is. Looking forward to working with you again!Josh Huber
"I learned this trade as a teenager, following my three uncles around job sites. Thirty years later, I still can't walk into a room without noticing the line that's a little off or the corner somebody rushed. My wife says I can't turn it off."
It's the standard we train into everyone on our crew, not just something I keep to myself. That eye is on every Finewright job. It's why we're not the cheapest bid, and why we don't want to be. You're paying for the job done right, once.
Our StoryWe'll come walk the space with you before we talk numbers. It gives you a chance to see how we think about a job, and it costs you nothing but the conversation.
